Update
Through what has been a challenging few weeks for the entire Taronga community as we temporarily close the doors at our two beloved zoos, we’d like to thank you for your patience as we work through what this unprecedented temporary closure means for our valued Red Taronga Saver, Zoo Friends members.
While necessary to play our role in supporting efforts to prevent the transmission of COVID-19, we understand it’s disappointing for members to be unable to access the Zoo.
To ensure you still receive the full value out of your pass, we will be adding an additional three month’s validity to the membership of all of our Zoo Friends.
This will be done automatically for all our current members, so there’s no need to get in touch to arrange it, and we will, of course, continue to monitor the situation to determine further actions as necessary.
Bringing the Zoo to you
Since temporarily closing our doors for the first time in our 103-year-history, we’ve been working hard to find a way to bring our zoos to you, and we’re excited to share that we’ve gone virtual, with the launch of Taronga TV!
Tune in daily to immerse yourself in fascinating content, including shows, keeper talks and 24/7 live-streams of our Sumatran Tigers, Asian Elephants and Greater Southern Oceans precinct! Find out what’s going on at Taronga’s Wildlife Hospitals as our vets work to rehabilitate rescued wildlife, get your daily dose of amusing and adorable animal antics and access behind-the-scenes sneak peeks at what the animals (and the keepers) actually get up to when the zoo is closed. You can stay up to date by following us on Facebook, Instagram or Youtube, and visiting our Taronga TV hub, where new videos are being added daily!
As a not-for-profit organisation committed to wildlife conservation, we’re incredibly grateful for your support during this challenging time, so on behalf of the entire Taronga family, thank you.
