How you can help
Keeper for a Day

Keeper For A Day - Adult

Work with animals and real zoo keepers hearing amazing stories. From food prep and animal care to a private seal encounter or fluff a Zebra bed, hide a bears enrichment toys, catch an echidna; no day is the same in the life of a keeper. The day includes an “official” Keeper for a Day shirt and bag, lunch, snacks and course material.

Keeper For A Day - Cadet (13-17yrs)

Cadet Keepers will work with the Zoo’s finest. We meet at the Education Centre and hop straight into the Macropod Yard to meet and work with animals. From food preparation to “poo” raking to preparing enrichment toys for different animals… bear maybe? See a show and meet the keeper to learn conditioning and training techniques. The day includes an “official” Keeper for a Day shirt and morning snack.

Keeper For A Day - Junior (8-12yrs)

Our Junior Keepers are in for a wild experience. We meet at the Education Centre and go behind-the-scenes in the Roo Yard for food preparation and feeding followed by “poo” raking. Make enrichment toys and conduct a health check on a lizard, all while learning how to protect and care for animals. The day includes an “official” Keeper for a Day shirt and morning tea.
