Join Taronga Teachers Association Competition – Terms and Conditions

1. Information on how to enter and prizes forms part of these conditions of entry. Entry into this competition is deemed to be an acceptance of these terms and conditions. This is a Game of Chance.

2. Entry is open to NSW teachers only, as indicated by your current proof of employment, such as a payslip from the previous fortnight.  Teachers will have heard of or received information on joining Taronga Teacher’s Association during 28 July – 31 August 2011 to enter this promotion.  All valid and current working teachers who join the Taronga Teacher’s Association (TTA) between 28 July-31 August 2011 (the Promotional Period) are entered into the draw. Directors, employees and their immediate families of Taronga Conservation Society Australia (TCSA) Trading as Taronga Zoo and Taronga Western Plains Zoo (including spouse, parent, child or sibling whether or not they live in the same house) and printers, suppliers, providers and agencies associated with this promotion are not eligible to enter. Entry is open to entrants over 18 years of age only. 

3. PROMOTIONAL PERIOD: The Promotion commences on 28 July 2011 at 9.00am (AEST) and concludes on 31 August 2011 at 5:00pm (AEST). 

HOW TO ENTER: To participate, you must access the TTA booking form online at Taronga.org.au directly, or via communications you have received, or  by calling the Taronga membership office on 02 9932 4315.  You must fully complete the details in the form, provide it back to the TTA memberships office at Memberships Office, Taronga Teachers Association, PO Box 20, Bradleys Head Rd Mosman NSW 2088, completing the membership payment process, during the promotional period to claim your competition entry. For a valid entry, you must correctly complete the registration form with valid and up to date details including, but not limited to, your name, address, email address, contact number, school details and you must prove upon collection of your membership that you are a current working teacher in NSW by showing a recent payslip from the previous fortnight. You must have submitted the form successfully to TTA before the closing date. By joining, you are agreeing to receive information and communications including by electronic mail from Taronga Conservation Society Australia.  You can opt out at any time.

4. Entry is limited to via one (1) membership per person.  No duplicate entries will be accepted.

5. The main teacher prize: The first (1st) entry randomly drawn from all individual entries will receive a Roar & Snore overnight experience for the family at Taronga Zoo, Mosman NSW OR Taronga Western Plains Zoo, Dubbo NSW.  This includes 2 adult tickets maximum value at $260 each for Sydney or $175 each for Dubbo, and 2 child tickets maximum value at $185 each for Sydney or $110 each for Dubbo. Total prize pool is valued at maximum of $890 for Sydney or $590 total for Dubbo. Value is correct as at July 2011.

The school prize: the winning school will be identified by tabulating the number of individual teachers that have joined the TTA during the promotional period of 28 July-31 August 2011 and the school with the greatest number of teachers having joined over the Promotional Period will win a Taronga ZooMobile visit involving a double session visit to the school, valued at $540 for 120 children maximum.

6. The winning teacher will be drawn at random from the total pool of entrants.  All final and valid entrants will be collected and a random winner will be drawn on Friday 2 September 2011 at 11am AEST.  The draw will take place at Taronga Zoo, Bradleys Head Rd Mosman NSW 2088. All valid entries will be manually collected and pooled together, and a single winner manually selected at random from the pool of entries. The winner will be notified by email, telephone or mail by 9 September 2011.  The winner will also be announced on Taronga.org.au by the 7 September 2011.

The winning school with the highest number of teachers joining TTA between 28 July-31 August 2011 inclusive will be notified by email, telephone or mail by 9 September 2011.  The winning school will also be announced on Taronga.org.au by the 7 September 2011.

In the event that there are 2 schools with equal number of highest teacher registrations with TTA in the Promotional Period, the prize will be split and the 2 winning schools will each receive a Taronga ZooMobile visit valued at $270 for 60 kids maximum.

In the event that more than 2 schools have equal number of highest teacher registration with TTA in the Promotional Period, each of the winning schools with go into a manual random draw containing just those schools that are tied, and the first school randomly selected will win the double session ZooMobile visit.

7. Unless expressly stated in these Terms and Conditions all other expenses become the responsibility of the Winner. The Winner (and their guests) are responsible for expenses incurred, including spending money, meals, travel to and from departure point and all other ancillary costs are the responsibility of the winner. 

8. Prize Terms of use: Prizes must be redeemed within 6 months - Roar & Snore: Prize must be redeemed within 6 months of the Prize Draw. Children must be minimum 5 years of age to attend Roar & Snore. Prize is redeemed by the Winner contacting Taronga Zoo Roar & Snore booking line to redeem their prize during the validity timeframe, and making a booking. The Winner must book within the available dates as advised by Taronga Roar & Snore, and this will be dependent on availabilities at the time the Winner chooses to arrange their booking. The whole prize must be taken in one single instance/booking and cannot be split over multiple booking dates. No BYO alcohol. Roar & Snore is a no smoking event and Taronga Zoo is a no smoking venue. There can be no changes or cancellations to the agreed booking date. Roar & Snore is an all weather event; however we may cancel dates due to severe unsafe weather conditions or other circumstances beyond our control. Guests require a level of fitness to participate in both evening and morning group walking activities as guests are not able to stay behind at the accommodation site.

ZooMobile: the ZooMobile van will visit the school only within school hours. The winning school is to arrange the appropriate date for the visit with the ZooMobile coordinator and this will be dependent on availability. The double sessions will be back to back (either in the morning or afternoon), and sessions are arranged as either 2x 1hr (60 students each session) or 4x ½ hour sessions (30 students each session). All details are to be arranged on booking. There can be no changes or cancellations to the agreed booking date.

9. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, or who submits an entry/claim which is not in accordance with these Conditions of Entry.

10. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from acceptance of the Prize winnings. Independent financial advice should be sought prior to entering the competition.

11. The prize must be taken as offered and cannot be varied unless authorised by the Promoter. The prize value includes GST and is in Australian dollars and is correct at time of printing. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in prize value. If a prize or part of is unavailable, for whatever reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for a prize of equal or greater value. 

12. Prizes are not transferable to another person or exchangeable. The prize cannot be redeemed as cash, other goods and services or sold to a third party including online auctions and private sales. Unused portions of the prize will be forfeited and no compensation will be paid in lieu of that element of the prize. 

13. The Promoter’s decision in relation to any aspects of the competition is final and binding on every person who enters and no correspondence will be entered into.

14. The Promoter and its associated agencies, and companies associated with this promotion will take no responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in transit.

15. The Promoter reserves the right to request Winners to provide proof of age and identity prior to awarding the Prize.  Identification considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the Promoter.  

16. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize/s except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.  The Promoter will not be responsible for any incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete information communicated in the course of or in connection with this promotion if the deficiency is occasioned by any cause outside the reasonable control of the Promoter including without limitation technical malfunctions or failures.  

17. The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the promotion.  The Promoter’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.

18. All entries become the property of the Promoter. The Promoter collects personal information about you to enable you to participate in this promotion. Use of such information will be in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and the TCSA Privacy Policy. To facilitate your participation and/or prize, the Promoter may disclose your personal information to other companies associated with this promotion. By entering this promotion unless otherwise advised, each entrant also agrees that the Promoter may use this information in any media for future promotional, marketing (including but not limited to print material and online material)and publicity purposes (including advising you of specific promotional events and other special offers) without any further reference, payment, or other compensation to the entrant including, sending the entrant electronic messages. A request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to the Promoter at their address set out below or visit www.taronga.org.au/tcsa/about/internet-privacy-policy.aspx to view TCSA Privacy Policy.  Participants can opt out of communications from TCSA at any time.

19. The entrant agrees to participate and co-operate with the Promoter as required in all editorial and promotional activities relating to the competition, including but not limited to being interviewed and photographed for the purpose of promoting this competition (including any outcome) without remuneration. Winners also agrees to grant to the Promoter a perpetual and exclusive licence to use such footage and photographs in all media worldwide and the Winner will not be entitled to any fee for such use.

20. Winners may be required to execute a Deed of Acknowledgement, Release and Indemnity in a form prescribed by the Promoter, at the Promoters discretion.

21. If for any reason this promotion is not capable of running as planned, including but not limited to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures, malfunction of any telephone network or line, providers or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this promotion. The promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process.

22. In the case of the intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders it's determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes; the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the activity and recommence it from the start on the same conditions subject to State and Territory Regulation.
