The Visitor Plaza
This newly redeveloped area is part of the free access zone at Taronga Western Plains Zoo which allows visitors to enjoy a coffee, refreshments or a meal at the café before entering the Zoo. The Visitor Plaza is the perfect place to plan your day at the Zoo whilst watching the Spider Monkeys and Lemurs frolic on the islands of the Savannah Lake. The Visitor Plaza features the information desk, Zoo Shop, Bakhita’s Café and Bakhita’s to go. All services are streamlined in this area so that you can book an encounter, grab a bite to eat or a coffee as well as a souvenir before or after you see the Zoo.
Bakhita’s Café
Overlooking the beautiful Savannah Lake, Bakhita’s Café offers modern Australian cuisine for a light breakfast and lunch. Bakhita’s Café also serves a selection of beverages including soft drinks, wines and coffee to compliment each meal. It is a great place to meet with friends for a coffee or lunch or to break up your visit to the Zoo by stopping in before heading around the circuit again. Open 9am – 2pm daily. Bakhita’s to go
If you’re after a something quick before heading off into the Zoo then stop in at Bakhita’s to go. Bakhita’s to go has a wide variety of refreshments available including hot and cold food and beverages. Perfect for a snack on the go or to enjoy on the terrace overlooking the Savannah Lake.
Streets Milk Bar
Located half way around the Zoo's six kilometre circuit, the Streets Milk Bar is a great place for a pit stop. Offerings include a great selection of hot and cold food and beverages with plenty of space to sit down and relax.
Picnic Spots
For those visitors wishing to bring their own food, the Zoo has a number of free picnic and barbecue areas are dotted along the circuit.
