‘Fearless at Taronga' is the first course of its kind offered in Australia and is one of Taronga Zoo's newest initiatives, proving to be a huge success!

‘Fearless at Taronga' is a short course which aims to address fears and phobias, through education and increased awareness.

We run two types of ‘Fearless' courses, one for reptiles and one for spiders.

The program is delivered by Warrick Angus, a specialist from the Zoological Parks Board of NSW along with ‘Mind Training' delivered by Alistair Horscroft - a teacher of clinical hypnotherapy and mind training, providing a variety of professional techniques.

Key objectives of the program are:

  • To dismiss many myths about these animals.
  • To give participants the skills to respond in a rational and educated manner when encountering these animals.
  • To provide a fascinating educational experience detailing the benefits and values of these animals in and amongst our homes.

With a 98% success rate, Taronga Zoo is extremely excited about the ‘Fearless at Taronga' program, and we are looking forward to helping many more people overcome their fears.
