Celebrate World Environment Day

Tomorrow on World Environment Day, Taronga Western Plains Zoo is encouraging Dubbo residents to do something positive for the environment, no matter how big or small! It could be as simple as enjoying your daily coffee in a re-usable ‘keep Cup’, using re-usable shopping bags when you go to the supermarket, choosing  sustainable seafood options for dinner or hang your washing on the clothes line instead of user the electric dryer. Every small change counts and will also help to encourage others and future generations to follow on with these positive changes. At Taronga Western Plains Zoo we are making positive changes around the grounds to help the environment. Soon more recycling stations will be installed around the circuit to make it easier for visitors to recycle whilst at the Zoo and we have also recently installed a new compost bin at the Education Centre. This is an opportunity for everyone to take responsibility to care for the earth but to also make changes that will benefit future generations.  The United Nations’ World Environment Day is celebrated to encourage global awareness and action for the environment.
