Last Friday, the Marine Mammal team took part in celebrations for Sustainable Seafood Day.
We have been using our daily Seal Show to promote sustainable seafood choices since 2007 and, with the help of our beautiful seals, have been successful in raising the awareness of this important issue.
Sustainable Seafood Day aims not to discourage consumers from eating seafood altogether, but rather choose products that are caught in a manner that ensures fish stocks are not depleted, supporting jobs and the environment.
This means we can all look forward to an ocean friendly future.
Visitors to Taronga Zoo’s Seal Show can collect a free pocket-sized seafood guide to help them make a more sustainable choice.
