The Zoo’s Siamang Ape pair, Puteri and Saudara, have enjoyed some special Easter treats at the Zoo today.

The Zoo’s volunteers have created a number of special Easter- themed piñatas for many of the animals which will feature in keeper talks and feeds over the Easter long weekend.  However, today the Siamang Apes were lucky enough to receive their piñatas a little early!

Puteri and Saudara were extremely excited to see what their treats were and couldn’t wait to come across to the island once we had placed the treats around the island.

We filled the piñatas with some of their favourite food including raisins, pitted dates and raw nuts in amongst some wood wool, which makes them search for their treats.

The end result was two very happy Siamang Apes!
