Taronga Western Plains Zoo has been nominated as a finalist in two categories at the 2011 NSW Inland Tourism Awards - best Tourist Attraction and best New Tourism Development for the new Savannah Visitor Plaza and free access area which opened in November 2010.
The nominations have seen the Zoo gain significant recognition from the tourism industry for the development and changes undertaken over the past year. Visitors already rave about the changes to the Zoo and the addition of the new free access area. It is hoped this will be reflected when the Inland Tourism Awards are announced on 30 July 2011.
