Workshop overview
In this energetic, hands‑on workshop, students become real “data detectives” as they explore how living things change over time. Working with a range of invertebrates, students observe and identify key features, then group animals based on their similarities and differences.
A highlight of the session is the tree shake activity, where students collect real data on local invertebrates living in the Zoo's gardens. Students work in teams to gather specimens, record their findings and use the results to create engaging data displays. From shaking trees to sorting bugs, this workshop turns scientific inquiry into an exciting outdoor adventure!
