Celebrate National Science Week at Taronga Zoo
Join us for a unique, Science Week adventure where students become scientists as they uncover the wonders of the natural world through hands-on discovery.
Across ten interactive learning stations, students will investigate animal adaptations, ecosystems, conservation technologies, and First Nations knowledge systems. Equipped with a Science Passport, students will travel through the Zoo collecting stamps, recording their observations, and capturing questions that spark their curiosity. Every activity is designed to foster scientific thinking and inquiry.

Students explore animal specimens, microscopes, and technologies like trackers and X-rays to build scientific inquiry skills. They also engage with First Nations perspectives through cultural plants, tools, and stories that highlight deep environmental knowledge and care for Country. This immersive experience encourages observation, questioning, and investigation, combining hands-on science, cultural insights, and real-world conservation to inspire curiosity and a deeper understanding of the natural world at Taronga Zoo.
