Offered in partnership with Taronga Conservation Society Australia, this degree builds deep expertise in wildlife conservation through scientific study, experiential learning, and real‑world exposure to conservation in action. Students learn from leading researchers and practitioners across the University of Sydney and the Taronga Institute of Science & Learning, where Taronga science case studies connect theory with practice and equip graduates to tackle complex, multidisciplinary conservation challenges.

What you'll study

Throughout the program, you will develop in‑depth expertise in wildlife conservation alongside the underpinning scientific principles that inform evidence‑based conservation practice.

You will be taught by leading researchers and practitioners from two of Australia’s premier institutions, the University of Sydney and Taronga Conservation Society Australia, and gain the skills needed to address complex, global conservation challenges.


The degree integrates ecology and conservation management with animal and veterinary science, providing a uniquely interdisciplinary understanding of both fields. This approach prepares graduates to work across diverse conservation, research, and wildlife management settings.
