The Taronga Training Institute was 100% the right place to chase the childhood dream of working with animals. I never thought I’d feel so delighted communing with an echidna, smelling the tigers’ off-exhibit area (fragrant!) or being embraced by a bunch of way younger but equally passionate classmates.
Instructor Tami’s earned knowledge and hilarious anecdotes breathed life into the course: I will never look at a koala in quite the same way again... Experiencing it all on the grounds of an actual zoo just made the idea of working in conservation and what it entails come alive.
