Taronga’s commitment to all animals in its care includes the provision of a stimulating and rich environment full of challenges and activities.
The engagement of the animals is the most important component of their life here at the Zoo and is supported by Taronga dedicated keepers, veterinarians and our own Behavioural Studies unit.
Scientists and staff from the unit work closely with keepers to develop challenging activities that stimulate the natural behaviours of the animals to ensure their genetic and behavioural diversity is maintained.
Taronga is perpetually changing and the big cat exhibits are soon to be the focus of the next exciting phase of redevelopment at the Zoo.
