Workshop overview

Building resilience for life's next adventure.

Starting a new school, moving into a new year level, meeting new people and facing unfamiliar challenges can be exciting, but also overwhelming. Into the Wild: Navigating Change uses the animal kingdom as inspiration to help students build the confidence and resilience needed to thrive during times of change.

Throughout this immersive zoo experience, students discover how animals adapt to changing environments, overcome challenges, work through uncertainty and rely on social connections to survive and thrive. Drawing on these examples, students explore practical strategies they can use in their own lives as they prepare for transition into a new stage of learning.

Through interactive activities, collaborative challenges and guided reflection, students develop resilience, adaptability, emotional regulation, problem-solving skills, positive relationships and a growth mindset. They will leave with a toolkit of strategies to help them confidently navigate change and embrace new opportunities.

What’s Involved

Throughout the day, students participate in a series of engaging, zoo-based experiences that connect animal adaptations with real-life strategies for managing change.
