We're working towards a positive future for wildlife and this means that sometimes there could be closures or works ongoing that may impact your experience. We understand there is never a good time to build a better Zoo, however the work we are investing in is to improve our animal habitats and deliver experiences that influence positive behaviour change to support the future of our wildlife.
Current works include the construction of a new $8M Platypus Conservation Centre. Work commenced in 2022 and will conclude late 2023. This precinct is located at the end of the Zoo's 5km circuit.
Closures
The Greater One-horned Rhino exhibit near Otters in Wild Asia is currently closed, however Greater One-horned Rhinos can still be viewed near The Waterhole.
