Stage 4: Classification of Living Things

Stage 4: Classification of Living Things

Overview

The living world is all around us, and what better way to explore it than at Taronga Zoo! Step into the habitat classrooms where your students will be able to get up close and learn from one of Taronga’s Education Officers about the similarities and differences of the structural features of animals and how these adaptations help them survive in their localised environments.

The lessons, when accompanied by the resource package, will give students the ability to conduct their own investigation about species, using observable features to interpret dichotomous keys and write a report about a chosen Australian species.
